Life and Depth documentary — Badeah Husain

The “Life and Depth” documentary by Stephanie Black was very discerning and insightful. It depicted a great deal of the negative effects and aspects that globalization had on Jamaica. The documentary exposes the different experiences shared between people from first world countries: who come to visit the island of Jamaica for vacation, and the natives of the country/island and how they struggle on a daily basis. This documentary was definitely an eye opener; Jamaica is still dealing with staggering amounts of poverty and is dealing with billions of dollars of debt. I also do believe that these policies were set up by the IMF and World Bank so that Jamaica can stay in poverty using it in opposition to them so that they can still have some type of colonization over the country/island. It was most definitely worth watching every second of this documentary; it opens your eyes in so many ways.
